About the Workshop

Are you looking for new ways to cultivate resilience in a chaotic, often heartbreaking world? Can't always capture everything you're feeling in words? Come out for a contemplative creative process that will help you cultivate creative habits of mind, give you permission to play and experiment, and let your ideas and insights emerge organically.

We’ll begin with a lightly guided discussion inspired by excerpts from Rollo May's The Courage to Create and related texts. Then, move into a gentle creative process using mixed media and intuitive mark-making to explore your emerging thoughts, feelings, and images.

No art experience is required—only curiosity, openness, and a willingness to experiment and see what unfolds for yourself.  This is process-focused time with materials (not product-focused) in a comment-free zone.  Art for the artistically-anxious and the artistically-eager alike!

About the Facilitator

Sharoni Sibony is a lover of metaphor, an adult educator, artist, and creative facilitator. She has been a lecturer for over 15 years in various venues across the Toronto community and beyond. She has taught ceramics and community-engaged mixed-media arts at Woodlawn Pottery Studio, Luc’s Studio, The Art Gallery of Mississauga, and the Miles Nadal JCC among other places. She trained as a Creative Facilitator with the Jewish Studio Project out of Berkeley, CA. Her artistic explorations most recently explore the relationship between chronic illness, ritual, and rest, and you can see some of her work in the Canadian Journal of Theology, Mental Health, and Disability.
