Speakers Bio:
Aloke Gupta | CEC, Deputy Director of Reliability
Aloke Gupta is currently posted at the California Energy Commission (CEC) as Deputy Director overseeing Reliability and Renewables program, which includes the largest Virtual Power Plant in the country. Before this, he was leading a team at the Energy Division of the California Public Utilities Commission focused on developing major policy initiatives. Prior to moving into the energy sector, Aloke had a successful career in Tech industries (networking and electronics), having worked at large companies (Lucent & Agere) as well as VC-funded startups. He held leadership positions in managing business units and cross-functional teams focused on launching new technology products and systems. Aloke’s academic training includes MSEE/MBA degrees from Stanford and Lehigh Universities, along with BS-Engineering Physics from Lehigh.
Ujvalla Gupta | PG&E, Sr. Director, Enterprise & Operational Risk Management
Ujvalla Gupta is the Sr. Director for the Enterprise Risk Organization at PG&E. In this role she oversees management of Enterprise risks (Operational and Strategic) as well as risk strategy and policy for the Company. This includes leading the development of, and advocacy for, PG&E’s risk management strategy, both internally and externally to integrate risk-informed strategy into PG&E’s Integrated planning processes and True North Strategy (TNS) initiatives. Prior to this role, she led the energy strategy and power delivery for AWS data centers on the Southwest side of AMER as well as Latin America. Ujvalla has worked in the Energy/Utility space for 19 years covering a wide variety of roles from implementing demand-side management programs to driving strategy supporting load growth and evaluation of risks and blockers. Ujvalla holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, India and an MBA from the University of California, Davis.
Supria Ranade | SB Energy, Head of Power Markets
Supria Ranade is the Head of Power Markets at SoftBank Energy. She has more than 17 years of experience in the North American power, gas, and environmental markets. Prior to joining SoftBank Energy, she worked on structured energy transactions at Lightsource BP, Direct Energy, BGC Partners, and Evolution Markets. Supria received her BSc in Environmental Science, from the Johns Hopkins University, and her MSc in Environmental Engineering from Columbia University. She currently serves on the Tax & Finance Advisory Committee for the Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA), and previously served on the boards of the Environmental Markets Association and Midwest Renewable Energy Tracking System (M-RETS).

Kathryn Arbeit | Potrero Consulting, Principal
Kathryn Arbeit is a renewable energy leader with over 20 years of experience successfully developing 20 GW of solar and wind projects operating in the US. In Kathryn’s 12 years at First Solar, the project development team brought over 6 GW of solar projects into operation. Kathryn also led the First Solar project development team through a successful platform sale to Leeward Renewable Energy, and has enabled the completion of development and commencement of construction of 274 MW of solar and 108 MW of storage during her tenure at Leeward. Kathryn has a long track record of developing pioneering renewable energy projects across the US, including the 550 MW Topaz Solar Farm in California, the 179 MW Switch Station project in Nevada, and the 450 MW Biglow Canyon Wind Farm in Oregon.
