About Event

Tobias Klenze is a Senior Researcher at Category Labs, the company developing Monad's core protocol. His research spans consensus, network security, and formal verification.

Category Labs recently released Cadence, a multiple-concurrent-proposers (MCP) consensus protocol that matches the good-case latency of single-leader BFT while supporting arbitrarily short block intervals via a technique called extreme pipelining. It offers short-term censorship resistance and hiding without compromising on latency. Tobias will give us the history behind the protocol and walk us through its two components: Chorus, the per-slot consensus, and Conductor, the orchestrator that paces block production.
