Presentation 1
Decentralisation as in Freedom by Marios Isaakidis, infotropic
This talk promotes decentralisation as a practical and genuine approach to fairness and respect. It showcases infotropic’s efforts to create technologies that support user freedoms, highlighting research on social propagation in Briar, a peer-to-peer messaging app, and hashdox, a tactical media platform for radical archiving.
Presentation 2
Legal-Economic Reality of Money and The Decentralised Alternative by Orestis Agathangelou, Klidi.io
Bitcoin reframes economic rights as protocol guarantees rather than revocable legal privileges.
Today, value transfer depends on centralised, permissioned intermediaries like banks and governments whose incentives and controls introduce trust, censorship, opacity, and availability risks. Economic rights exist because Treaties, Constitutions, and laws say so, and depend on legislators to recognise them, courts to interpret them, and the executive to enforce them.
Human-administered rights often fail, leaving individuals exposed to corruption. This talk explores how (truly) decentralised protocols, specifically Bitcoin, provide a singular global ledger of truth and unconditional freedom to transact and own property without any gatekeepers.
We’ll examine the design properties that make Bitcoin resilient/decentralised (openness, neutrality, auditability). Attendees will leave with a clear framework for evaluating economic coordination systems: what is guaranteed by law and institution; what is guaranteed by protocol.
This presentation aims to show how Bitcoin is a better alternative to economically empowering individuals than the already established Right to Property and the Right to Economic Activity.
Presentation 3
