First Miles of the Season with NOWcc
No Ordinary Women welcomes all female and non-binary riders to join our First Miles of the Season. Are you interested in becoming part of the NOWcc community? Or have you been part of NOWcc for a while and ready to leave winter behind? To kick-off the season we are organising four events to ease into the first miles of warm and sunny springtime. Social Coffee Ride
We’re kicking off our First Miles of the Season series with a Social Coffee Ride - a relaxed and welcoming ride focused on meeting up, building on-bike confidence, and (re)connecting with the NOWcc community.
Whether you’re new to NOWcc or already part of the crew, this is the perfect way to start the new season together. We can’t wait to see new and familiar faces.
Timeline
09:30 - Arrive at Maats
09:45 - Meet & greet
10:00 - Wheels roll out
12:30 - 13:00 - Return to Maats
Ride Details
We’re an advanced group that rotates at the front, enjoys sprints, and pushes each other to get stronger while keeping it safe & social.
Route distance: 55–65 km - route will be shared via email a few days before the ride
Pace: 28-30 km/h average, 30-34 km/h rolling speed
A cosy indoor coffee stop halfway through the ride
Group riding experience required (hand signals, drafting, etc.)
What to Bring
Mandatory: cleats, road pedals, and helmet
Spare tire, mini tool, and pump
Snacks and water bidons
A well-maintained bike (TT handlebars are not allowed)
