Roundtable on Tokenisation: Building the Next Generation of Financial Infrastructure
ABOUT THE ROUNDTABLE
Tokenisation is moving from concept to real-world application, as financial institutions, technology providers and regulators explore how assets, money and financial processes can operate on new digital rails. This curated roundtable brings together a group of people actively shaping that transition to discuss how the next generation of financial infrastructure can be built — covering opportunities and challenges across infrastructure, regulation, custody, identity, payments and interoperability. The ambition is not to showcase a single solution, but to create an open, candid discussion between the different actors who need to be part of this transformation.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
People actively involved in shaping the future of financial infrastructure, rather than those simply looking to learn about tokenisation; including banks and financial institutions, fintechs and infrastructure providers, asset managers and investors, regulators and policymakers, and founders, executives and researchers working at the intersection of finance and emerging technology. The goal is different perspectives around the same table, and a discussion that is practical, candid and relevant to those making decisions today.
FORMAT & HOST
A curated roundtable under Chatham House Rule, structured around three core themes, each introduced and led by a participant with particular expertise in that area. Hosted by Blockchain Sweden, a non-profit industry association connecting companies, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers and other stakeholders working with blockchain, digital assets and emerging financial infrastructure in Sweden.
VENUE PARTNER
The roundtable is generously hosted at the offices of Eversheds Sutherland, a global top 10 law practice, with deep expertise in financial services and technology.

PROPOSED TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION
Market development: how tokenisation is progressing across Europe, lessons from Germany and other markets, and how EU-level regulation is shaping the path forward
Practical applications: concrete use cases and lessons learned, end-to-end versus modular infrastructure, and how demand differs across markets as tokenisation moves from pilot to production
Regulation and institutional adoption: what needs to change for tokenisation to move from innovation to real use within finance — relevant use cases, what banks need from new infrastructure, and remaining obstacles
Guiding questions across the session: what is preventing tokenisation from reaching scale, what infrastructure and regulatory building blocks are still missing, how do we build a financial system that is more efficient and interoperable without simply replacing today’s intermediaries with tomorrow’s technology monopolies, and what should the long-term architecture for tokenised finance look like?
