Fusion CAM 101 (For Woodworkers) [trial run]
NOTE: This is the first time i'm running the class, so it's a bit of a trial run, with some bumps expected. This class is pretty discounted, and the price is likely to go up significantly in the future!
In this class you'll learn the basics of designing CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) operations, aimed primarily for usage with wood on CNC routers, as well as some basics on CNC routers, bits, stock, etc.
I'll provide a simple test model designed with Fusion CAD, and i'll go through the design of several types of operations from scratch so you can follow along on your laptop.
The contents:
Basic concepts
a. Chip load, feed rates, rpm
b. Different types of stock
c. Different types of router bitsFusion CAM
a. Tool library and post-processors
b. Manufacturing models
c. Setups
d. Stock set up
e. Adaptive Clearing
f. 2D Pocket
g. Bore
h. Scallop, Parallel, short intro to finishing operations.
i. 2D Contour
If you want to follow along, you should bring a laptop with Fusion installed:
