About Event

Moving from Awareness to Action

Mental health conversations have become more visible in recent years. Whilst visibility matters awareness alone isn’t always enough.

This May, for Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re creating space to explore this year’s theme of Action what it really means to move beyond conversation and take practical, meaningful steps to support our mental wellbeing.

We’re delighted to be joined by Sky Tunley-Stainton from Safe in Our World, a mental health charity supporting the games industry. Together, we’ll open up an honest, thoughtful discussion about what action can look like in real life at work, at home and within ourselves.

Together we’ll explore:

  • What “taking action” for our mental health really means beyond social posts and good intentions

  • Small, practical self-care steps we can implement immediately

  • The role of workplace support, boundaries and systemic change

  • The realities of seeking diagnosis, including the pros, cons and complexities

  • Community, conversation and the power of not doing it alone

  • Breaking down stigma so people feel safer asking for help

Mental health isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Support looks different for each of us and action doesn’t have to be dramatic to be meaningful.

The Pause Collective remains a gentle, confidential and heart-led space especially important when we’re discussing topics that carry vulnerability.

You are welcome exactly as you are.

No pressure to share.
No expectation to have it figured out.

Just an opportunity to listen, reflect and consider what action might look like for you.

About The Hosts:

Sky Tunley-Stainton is the Head of Programmes at video games mental health charity Safe In Our World. They apply their lifelong passion for both mental health and video games to this role as they work to support the games industry in overcoming barriers and implementing better mental health support through practical resources, training, and advocacy. Their professional background is in HR and Learning & Development, and as an Autistic person with ADHD, they are a keen advocate for neuro-inclusivity.

Safe In Our World is a mental health charity dedicated to supporting the video games industry and its communities. The charity offers a wealth of resources aimed at destigmatising mental health, accessing international support, and highlighting the power of games to support those who are struggling. Free-of-charge training and programmes such as Level Up Mental Health support games companies in implementing practices to better support their teams' mental health, while practical toolkits such as the Good Game Playbook or Sidekick mental health journal support players in understanding and advocating for their own wellbeing.
