Democratizing Energy (dinner provided)
Who decides where Seattle gets its energy—and how much it costs? And what would it look like if communities had more of a say in shaping our energy future?
This month at Soapbox Seattle, we’re pulling back the curtain on how decisions get made, exploring what energy democracy could look like, and imagining a future that’s more affordable, equitable, and renewable.
The plan:
6-7pm: eat plant-based dinner and yap
7~8:30pm: Program & discussion — We’ll untangle Seattle’s energy decision-making system, then dive into what a just, community-driven future could look like through the lenses of renewables, affordability, and energy justice
8:30-9pm: continue hanging out
No experience needed; just bring yourself, and optionally: a friend and a water bottle! If you're biking, you can stash your bike in the gallery.
Request a reparative ticket here if needed.
