About Event

Join us for an evening of biodiversity mapping in the green corridors of Mid-Levels on Hong Kong Island, where nature, technology and citizen science come together.

Guided by eight of Hong Kong's leading wildlife experts, including ecologists, educators, wildlife photographers and filmmakers, participants will explore local ecosystems while documenting species through the iNaturalist app, one of the world's largest open-source biodiversity databases.

From insects and spiders to reptiles and amphibians, this two-hour exploration offers a rare opportunity to discover the remarkable diversity of urban wildlife while contributing valuable data used by researchers and conservation scientists worldwide. This helps to create raw data which can help scientists formulate, plan and execute research.

This walk is part of the Bupa Healthy Cities initiative – a global movement under Bupa’s commitment to creating a “Better World”. In Hong Kong, the initiative focuses on designing urban environments that prioritize health and well-being for all. By encouraging active movement, enhancing access to nature, and integrating healthcare services, Bupa Healthy Cities fosters healthier lifestyles. With strong community involvement and a focus on sustainability, it aims not only to improve individual health but also to contribute to a healthier planet.
