​with the first half of our calendar’s programming under our belt, we’re gearing up for what we know is going to be an incredible SIDE B. when considering what type of album should usher in our second half, words like “impactful,” “staple,” “pivotal,” and “foundational” came to mind.

​no matter how you feel about Kanye West and his controversy-laden career, one thing remains undeniably true: THE COLLEGE DROPOUT (2004) changed the hip-hop landscape, shattered the ceilings for the heights a producer could reach, and set the foundation for generations of producers, rappers, and creatives to follow.

​attendees are encouraged to listen to the album in advance using the t/r listening guide and resources posted to the staff's are.na channel (access will unlock three weeks before the meeting).
