Ultra Weekend 007
Ultra Club’s Weekend Retreats
Ultra Club exists for one reason: to help people escape the cultural gravity that holds modern Japan in place. Tokyo’s mindset is powerful, rigid, and self-reinforcing. It shapes how people think, act, and limit themselves. Most never reach the escape velocity required to break out.
Ultra Club provides the warp drive. These retreats remove you from Japan Inc.’s inertia and place you in environments where new ideas, new perspectives, and new forms of agency can actually take shape.
Yugawara is our next launch point, and the renovated ryokan we stay in captures the core philosophy: legacy becomes opportunity when you think differently.
What This Weekend Delivers
This retreat is built for people who want clarity, momentum, and a perspective unshaped by the default settings of Japanese corporate culture. The ryokan sets the tone immediately. It keeps its historic bones but rebuilds the experience through modern design, intentional lighting, and clean, considered aesthetics. It stands as a direct counterexample to the stagnation of Japan Inc., demonstrating how value emerges the moment someone challenges the assumption that old things must stay old.
The entire weekend follows that same principle. We eat at restaurants with real regional identity because predictable choices lead to predictable thinking. We hike through mountains, castle ruins, caves, waterfalls, and ocean viewpoints because movement resets mental patterns. We use outdoor onsen and sauna heat to clear the body, drop into a craft beer bar to connect with Yugawara’s subculture, and end the night at a classic snack pub that most people in Tokyo will never experience.
Every element is chosen deliberately to pull you out of Tokyo’s gravity and into a mindset that sees Japan for what it truly is: a land full of overlooked potential.

Build Your Momentum
Ultra Club retreats are designed as inflection points. They reset your thinking, expand your perspective, and connect you with people who operate at a higher level of agency. If you want to build on that momentum, my work at MKUltraman helps founders and operators break out of Japan’s default patterns and develop sharper digital systems, clearer strategy, and alternative approaches to opportunity.
Stay connected if you want continued access to this environment. The retreat sets your new trajectory. What you build afterward is where the real value compounds.
