TRUST

Who carries the consequence?

For founders, boards and critical decision-makers across space systems, frontier technologies and intelligent infrastructure asking:

  • Who actually has authority to make consequential decisions as AI and autonomy move further into the system?

  • Do decision rights, accountability and exposure sit with the same people, or have they become separated?

  • When intervention is limited, delayed or impossible, what must leadership be able to trust before committing?

AI, autonomous systems and advanced technologies increasingly cross technical, commercial, operational and governance boundaries while authority and accountability remain distributed between them.

The person encouraged to accelerate may not carry the downside. The supplier shaping the technical architecture may not carry the operational exposure. A model may recommend an action without holding responsibility for its consequences. And in space, infrastructure and other high-consequence environments, there may be moments when human intervention is delayed, constrained or unavailable altogether.

That makes trust more than confidence in the technology.

Trust is infrastructure.

It is the architecture that allows leaders to understand where authority sits, what evidence is sufficient, when intervention is required and who remains accountable when systems act with increasing autonomy.

The question is not simply:

Can we trust the system?

It is:

What must be true for us to place trust here, and who carries the consequence when that trust is exercised?

MY PROMISE

In 90 minutes, leave with greater clarity on:

  • where authority, accountability and consequence currently sit across the system;

  • where decision rights, incentives or exposure may be misaligned;

  • what evidence, assurance or escalation is required before greater autonomy or commitment;

  • the next governance decision that would strengthen confident, responsible action.

We will examine where authority and responsibility may have separated, test whether current governance reflects how decisions are actually being made, and identify gaps between technical capability, human oversight and organisational accountability.

We will also examine what happens when intervention becomes slower, harder or less available, and identify the next point where ownership, assurance or executive control needs strengthening.

Then we will identify the governance decision leadership needs to make next.

WHO I AM

I work with critical decision-makers and operators where AI, autonomy, governance and organisational consequence meet.

Across 25 years spanning astrophysics, advanced technology, AI strategy, governance, systems thinking and executive leadership, I have worked across global enterprises, technology ecosystems and high-consequence environments where technical capability must coexist with accountable human judgement.

Through XSAIA, I work with boards, C-suite leaders, investors and frontier organisations making consequential decisions across AI, space systems, intelligent infrastructure and advanced technology.

My work focuses particularly on the practical reality behind governance: how organisations establish clear authority, sufficient evidence, meaningful assurance and accountable decision-making without reducing governance to a layer of process added after the real decisions have already been made.

I believe governance should increase an organisation’s capacity to act intelligently under uncertainty, not simply increase the number of controls surrounding it.

Bring the decision. We’ll examine what it really requires.
