KU AI x ChatGPT Lab: So you think you know ChatGPT?
Ever feel like everyone is using ChatGPT, but no one is really talking about how they are using it? Some people use it to study smarter, organize their lives, brainstorm ideas, or get unstuck on assignments. Other times, it starts doing too much of the thinking for you.
This event is about exploring that space in between, the creative, helpful, and thoughtful ways ChatGPT can support student life without becoming a shortcut for the work that matters.
💬 What we’ll do
You’ll join a small group of students and start with a real conversation. Each group will choose a student use case to explore, whether that is homework help, note-taking, job prep, time management, project planning, or something more unexpected.
From there, you’ll test it live with ChatGPT, try different prompts, refine your approach, and figure out what actually works in practice. At the end, each group will give a quick, low-pressure share-out on what they tested, what worked, and what they learned.
🙌 What we ask from you
Come ready to contribute one idea, one question, or one real-life friction point from student life. (ex. This could be something you've been wanting to try out with ChatGPT but did not have a chance to). You do not need to be a ChatGPT expert, and you do not need to have the perfect use case in mind. We just ask that you show up ready to talk, experiment, and collaborate with your group.
📚 What you’ll get
Every participant will receive a free copy of OpenAI’s 100 Chats for College Students, a limited-edition collection of student-tested examples showing how ChatGPT can actually be useful in college.
At the end of the event, three standout teams will be selected for Most Practical Workflow, Most Creative Use Case, and Best Treat, Not Cheat Use. Each winning team will receive one ChatGPT Plus prize to award to a teammate of their choice.
💻 What to bring
Bring a laptop, bring a friend, or just bring your emotional support water bottle. If you come alone, don’t worry, we’ll help you meet people.
