Stew Your Feelings: A Guided Cooking and Feeling Workshop
Come together to make something, feel something, and share something!
Join Emma from A Crowded Table for an afternoon of guided mindful meal making and emotion care by gently exploring our feelings and experiences through making and gathering. Emma will guide us through the process of chopping vegetables, mixing seasonings, and making and sampling a vegan community stew. There will be opportunities for mindful reflection and discussion about making, feeling, and gathering. Participants will take home prepped stew ingredients to store, simmer, enjoy, and share!
The workshop will include the following activities:
⭒ Decolonized mindfulness overview with meditation
⭒ Prompts to invite awareness of physical and emotional experiences
⭒ Guided chopping and mixing experience
⭒ Experiential metaphor overview and personalization
⭒ Stew sample over dynamic discussion shaped by attendee’s needs and experiences
⭒ Closing process to encourage reflection of concepts, experience, and learning
You will leave the group with:
⭒ Chopped meal base to cook at home
⭒ Mindful awareness of yourself practicing creativity and connection in community
⭒ A collective feeling experience
⭒ Resources for further mindfulness learning and practice including a stew recipe, themes of the metaphor, and reflective prompts
Please note:
