​Before our Summer Social begins at 3pm, CSTF will make an IMPACT at the Wild Mile.

​This optional activity is designed to flow into the CSTF Summer Social immediately following at neighboring Off Color Brewing. Please register separately for the Summer Social.

​Our host and CSTF member, Maya Kelly, will give us a guided tour, share about the Wild Mile’s mission, and lead us in a stewardship activity such as gardening, habitat care, or seasonal maintenance - helping them spruce up for one of their biggest events of the year!

​What is the Wild Mile?

​The Wild Mile is the world's first floating eco-park located along the Chicago River, designed to restore habitat, improve water quality, and reconnect people with urban nature. Stretching through the city’s North Branch Canal, it combines native plants, wildlife habitat, educational spaces, and public access areas where visitors can kayak, volunteer, learn, and experience a healthier river ecosystem in the heart of Chicago.

​Following this IMPACT event, we'll walk next door to Off Color Brewing to enjoy the CSTF Summer Social at 3pm.

​Wild Mile Details:
Date/Time: Thursday, July 16th, 1:30pm-3:00pm
Location: Behind the REI at 905 W Eastman St. There is a ramp down to the Wild Mile's floating gardens. We'll meet at the top of that ramp.
Transportation: The North/Clybourn red line stop is close by, along with the Halsted and North Ave. buses. Free street parking is often available nearby.
What to bring: An outfit you don't mind getting a little wet/dirty. We also encourage you to bring sunglasses and/or a hat if sunny and a reusable water bottle.
Waivers: It can speed up things on the day if participants have already filled out this online waiver form.
