Closing the gap between prescription and first dose: a company briefing with Sahir Jaggi, Forus

​According to Forus, more than a third of patients prescribed a high-cost or complex medicine never receive their first dose. Between the prescription and the pharmacy counter sit benefits checks, prior authorizations, financial assistance applications and specialty pharmacy routing. Much of that still runs on portals, phone calls and faxes, and it can take weeks or months before treatment starts, if it starts at all.

​Forus, formerly known as Tandem, gives every prescription its own AI agent to work that process the way a case manager would, across every drug, payer and pharmacy. The service is free for doctors and patients. Forus says it now reaches patients in 85% of U.S. residential ZIP codes and works with nine of the top 15 global biopharma companies, which use the network to support launches and to see where access breaks down. In September, the company raised a $150 million Series C at a $3 billion valuation, led by Bain Capital Ventures, bringing total funding to more than $300 million.

​Before founding Forus, Jaggi spent several years in product roles at Oscar Health.
