The Madrid Review LIVE: Journalism as a Public Service with Marilyn Quintana
Marilyn Quintana is a Spanish-Ecuadorian journalist and former co-host of RTVE's English Language Broadcast - a programme focused on strengthening the connection between Spain and English-speaking countries. She has interviewed leading figures in culture, the arts, science and politics, as well as everyday people doing meaningful work in their communities.
Marilyn is a strong believer in journalism as a public service, and the importance of media literacy in the fight against disinformation. Her personal experience as a migrant has shaped the way she approaches her work and we can't wait to talk to Marilyn about journalism that is rooted in purpose, empathy and commitment to truth.
Finally, as always, we will want to hear from you - the audience! We will be deep into the festive season, so we invite guests to bring readings to share. We want to hear writing that brings the true spirit of the holidays - that of generosity, compassion and fellowship - to life.
This event is organised by Jayne Marshall and James Hartley.
Jayne Marshall is a writer and editor. Her first book A Line Drawn or Printed: Six Routes Through Madrid was recently published by Modern Odyssey Books. She is Associate Editor of The Madrid Review
James Hartley is the editor of The Madrid Review, a literary magazine publishing work from new and well-known names from around the world.
