About Event

Event description

AI is already showing up in nonprofit work.

People are using it to draft, summarise, plan, research and rewrite, whether or not their organisation has agreed how it should be used.

That means AI can become embedded before anyone has agreed what is safe, useful or appropriate. Sensitive information may be put into public tools. Answers that sound confident may be wrong. People may be using AI without anyone else knowing what is happening.

This is not just a technology issue. It affects trust, safety, fairness, workload and accountability.

This free, practical session is for nonprofit CEOs and senior leaders who want to understand what tools such as ChatGPT and Claude actually do, where they can help, where they can go wrong and what leaders need to ask about their use.

We’ll cover

  • AI and large language models, in plain English

  • Where AI may already be appearing, including informal or “shadow” use

  • Why AI is a leadership, governance, inclusion and trust issue

  • Key risks around sensitive information, safeguarding, bias and misinformation

  • Practical, lower-risk uses that can reduce the work around the work

You’ll leave with

  • A clearer understanding of AI and its limits

  • A practical way to think about AI risk

  • Clearer boundaries around what should and should not go into a free or public AI tool

  • Practical questions to take back to staff, trustees and volunteers

  • A clearer sense of where human judgement, checking and accountability need to remain

This is not a tool demonstration, prompt workshop or full AI policy session. You do not need to become an AI expert or arrive with all the answers.

The aim is to build shared understanding, ask better questions, set sensible boundaries and work out what needs attention next.

Who should come

Nonprofit CEOs, chief executives and senior leaders who want to understand what AI means for their organisation and what needs to happen next.

It is useful whether your organisation is already experimenting, has informal use underway or has not agreed a position yet.

You do not need technical experience or prior knowledge of AI.

About us
