Join Home Assistant users, makers, and smart-home enthusiasts from Mississauga and across the GTA for Home Assistant Community Day 2026 - Mississauga.
This is a relaxed, community-focused meetup built around practical demos, real projects, shared experience, and conversations with other smart-home enthusiasts.
Whether you already run a sophisticated Home Assistant setup or are just getting started, you are welcome to join, learn, ask questions, explore devices, and connect with others interested in open, interoperable, privacy-conscious smart-home technology.
Beginners are absolutely welcome. No presentation or project is required to attend.
What to Expect
Live Home Assistant demonstrations featuring local-first automation, dashboards, smart lighting, sensors, and presence detection
Discussions on Zigbee, Z-Wave, Matter, Thread, ESPHome, MQTT, networking, privacy, and smart-home cybersecurity
Community Show & Tell featuring smart-home devices, DIY builds, and personal projects
Optional attendee lightning talks and project demonstrations
Open Q&A, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing
Informal small-group discussions, hands-on exploration, and networking with local smart-home enthusiasts
Optional Community Demos & Lightning Talks
Just coming to listen, explore, and meet people? Absolutely welcome - no presentation is required.
If you do have something you would like to share, there will also be optional 5–10 minute community demos and lightning talks during the meetup.
You can show:
your Home Assistant setup or dashboard
an automation you built
an ESPHome or DIY hardware project
Zigbee, Z-Wave, Matter, or Thread devices
networking, privacy, or smart-home security ideas
an interesting integration or device
something you learned from a project
a problem you solved that others may benefit from
Nothing formal is required. A few slides, a live demo, a laptop, phone, or the hardware itself is enough.
If you would like a dedicated time slot, please contact the host through Luma in advance so time can be reserved for you.
Bring Something to Share
Prefer something more informal?
Feel free to bring your smart-home project, device, laptop, phone, dashboard, automation, or DIY build and share it in the Show & Tell area.
No scheduled presentation is required for Show & Tell.
You are also welcome to bring a smart-home problem, question, or idea you would like to discuss. Someone else in the room may already have experience with the same challenge.
