About Event

Lore Speakeasy is proud to host the Legendary City Slam SF, an open stage for poets, spoken word artists, and storytellers who have something to say and aren't afraid to say it. Whether you've been performing for years or this is your first time stepping up to the mic, this is your invitation.

Featuring Nazelah Jamison: a Bay Area-based poet, comedian, vocalist, and emcee known for her dynamic performances and fearless voice. Author of Evolutionary Heart (Nomadic Press), her work appears in numerous journals and anthologies, including The Town: An Anthology of Oakland Poets. She hosts Thee Virtual Open Mic and Berkeley Poetry Slam, and is active in curating inclusive, community-centered events. Also a horror screenwriter and performer, Nazelah brings heart, humor, and heat to every stage she touches—plus, she gives the best hugs in the Bay.

San Francisco has always been a city of voices — rebellious, tender, political, personal. On March 29, we're giving those voices a home. Bring your best work or something you wrote on the way here. All styles welcome. All stories are valid.

Doors at 6, Sign-Ups at 6:30, Show Starts at 7.

$20 at the door. Free to sign up. Cocktails available all night.
