How to Pitch Like a Pro: Crafting Compelling Pitch Narratives that Land Investment
A good pitch makes it easy to understand what you’re building and why it matters.
In this session, we’ll talk through how effective pitch narratives are built and how investors tend to listen to them. The focus is on explaining what you’re building, why it matters, and where it’s going without overcomplicating the story or leaning on buzzwords.
We’re joined by Will Mercer, a Venture Strategist who works closely with early-stage teams on fundraising and investor positioning. Will will share what investors pay attention to during a pitch, where founders often lose clarity, and how to tighten a narrative before taking it into real conversations.
If you’re a UHI builder (or alumni!) thinking about next steps for your project, this session is for you. It’s also open to any founder or builder working on an early-stage product.
What we’ll cover:
How investors evaluate early-stage pitches and what they listen for
How to structure a pitch narrative from problem to vision
What to include, what to cut, and where founders often lose clarity
How to prepare your pitch for real investor conversations
Live talk followed by Q&A.
