Artificial Intelligence (AI) is today the fastest advancing direction in science and technology, with numerous applications in natural language processing, image analysis and generation, speech recognition and synthesis etc. The development of the large language models (LLMs) with their versatile generative abilities is the basis of amazing technological products like ChatGPT which offer human-like solutions to a wide range of tasks. The Transformer architecture is the core of the thousands of LLMs that are available today, enabling them to learn the high complexity of human languages. This open lecture will cover the key techniques and methods that lie at the foundation of modern AI technologies related do language and text. It will also practically show how we can fine tune and run language models using Python code.

Speaker:

Erion Çano - researcher and lecturer at Ruhr University, Germany. He completed his doctoral studies in artificial intelligence and computational linguistics at the Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy. He then worked for two years as a researcher at Charles University in Prague, at the Institute of Formal and Applied Linguistics. For several years, he has been conducting studies in the fields of lexicology and information technology terminology.

​Inteligjenca Artificiale (IA) përbën sot drejtimin me përparimin më të vrullshëm në shkencë e teknologji, me zbatime të shumta në përpunim të gjuhëve natyrore, analizë dhe krijim imazhesh, njohje dhe sintetizim të zërit etj. Zhvillimi i modeleve të mëdha gjuhësore me aftësitë e tyre të gjithanshme gjeneruese është baza e produkteve teknologjike të mrekullueshme si ChatGPT që ofrojnë zgjidhje të ngjashme me ato njerëzore për një gamë të gjerë detyrash. Arkitektura Transformer qëndron në bërthamë të mijëra modeleve të mëdha gjuhësore që janë të disponueshme sot, duke u mundësuar të mësojnë kompleksitetin e lartë të gjuhëve njerëzore. Ky leksion i hapur do të trajtojë teknikat dhe metodat kyç që qëndrojnë në themel të teknologjive të sotme të IA-së të lidhura me gjuhën dhe tekstin. Do të tregojë gjithashtu praktikisht se si mund t'i përshtasim dhe ekzekutojmë modelet gjuhësore duke përdorur kodin Python.

​Folës:
Erion Çano - studius dhe pedagog në Universitetin e Ruhr, Gjermani. Studimet e doktoraturës me specialitet inteligjencën artificiale dhe gjuhësinë kompjuterike i kreu në Universitetin Politeknik të Torinos, Itali. Punoi më tej për dy vite si hulumtues në Universitetin e Karlit në Pragë, pranë Institutit të Gjuhësisë Formale dhe të Zbatuar. Prej disa vitesh kryen studime në fushat e leksikologjisë dhe të terminologjisë së teknologjisë së informacionit.
