AI Clinic: Build a Research Dashboard Step by Step
This hands-on AI Clinic will empower research managers to build an AI-assisted Grants Analysis Dashboard that provides a clear picture of their department’s or institution’s strategic funding position.
By exploring funding trends, identifying opportunities and gaps, and assessing alignment with institutional priorities, participants will learn how to turn complex grant data into actionable strategic insights.
The goal is to equip research managers with the evidence and confidence to guide researchers, prioritise funding opportunities, and make informed decisions including knowing when to say "not now" or "not the right fit", backed by data rather than intuition.
Because effective research management isn't just about securing more funding, it's about pursuing the right funding, strategically.
This AI clinic is lead by Kanza Basit from University of Oxford.
Kanza holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and leads the Research Facilitation team in the Social Sciences Division at the University of Oxford.
She works at the intersection of research support and strategy, and is a firm believer that AI can be a powerful assistant, provided it is used responsibly, thoughtfully, and with a healthy respect for human judgment.
