Understanding Canada’s Climate and Energy Landscape
Date: Tuesday October 20th from 10:00-11:30am PT / 1:00-2:30pm ET
As an energy-exporting country, what is Canada's role (and the role of asset owners) in the current moment as we navigate geopolitical risks, socioeconomic tensions, extreme weather, and threats to our economic sovereignty?
We begin our new webinar series on “Investing in Canada’s Economic Future” with a focus on the nexus between energy and climate – a particularly urgent topic as policymakers wrestle with diversifying our energy exports away from the U.S. by investing in new pipelines, ports, nuclear and hydroelectric power, and transmission grids, while communities grapple with the effects of wildfires, floods, and extreme weather caused or exacerbated by climate change.
What do Canadian asset owners need to know about the current (and constantly shifting) landscape, what risks and opportunities can they expect to encounter in the months ahead, and most importantly – how can they help create a more resilient and sustainable future for Canada?

Who is this session for?
This is for anyone with the responsibility to steward, manage, and allocate philanthropic and investment capital towards mitigating and adapting to climate change, but is especially intended for those who do not live and breathe this every single day, and are trying to make sense of what's happening, to separate out the distractions from what's important, and to break out of inaction.
Come prepared to share and ask questions!
Our webinars are meant to be participatory and interactive. You will have an opportunity to engage with our guest speakers either in plenary or breakout room discussions.
