Join us at House 410A on Governors Island for an intimate screening of Golden Eye by residency artist Ivana Larrosa. The film will be screened continuously throughout the afternoon from 2-5 PM, and visitors will have the opportunity to meet and speak with the artist during the event.
Golden Eye reinterprets the function of ritual, drawing inspiration from the Japanese technique of kintsugi, the art of repairing cracks or fractures in ceramics with gold.
By repairing physical scars with gold, resulting from a car accident that left Ivana with permanent double vision, the film proposes an alternative practice for healing and spiritual guidance. Rather than erasing the traces of injury, the healing process embraces them, leaving visible marks that reveal the experience of grief through scars embellished by the golden patina of the image-making process.

Ferry Location:
Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn Bridge Park (Pier 6), or Red Hook/Atlantic Basin

Once you get off the ferry, walk toward the QC Spa and continue following the street. Our house is the first house on the left.
A Day on Governors Island
There will be many other artist residency spaces and events happening throughout the island, and we encourage you to explore and visit other spaces as part of your day.
We also recommend bringing a reusable water bottle, as there are water refill stations throughout the island.
There are several restaurants and food vendors on Governors Island, as well as beautiful green areas perfect for walking, relaxing, or having a picnic. You are also welcome to bring your own food or snacks if you prefer.
