Be Steadwell Reading & Live Music

​Be Steadwell brings her voice — literary and musical — to Gladys Books & Wine for an evening centered on her debut novel Chocolate Chip City. Known for her deeply felt songwriting and storytelling, Be will read from the book and perform live, creating the kind of intimate atmosphere that only happens when art moves through a room in real time.

​Chocolate Chip City is a love story rooted in Black queer joy, the kind of narrative that feels both personal and expansive. This is a chance to sit with the work up close, to hear the author’s own voice give it breath, and to take home a signed copy as a reminder of the night.

​The evening will move at its own pace — words first, then music, all of it woven together the way Be Steadwell does best.
