Small storms and small heatwaves that occur every year are not the risk: these normal weather fluctuations are part of the climatology. Physical climate risks are rarer events that occur once every 5, 10, 20, 50, or 100 years, which is why they are called “hidden” risks. In general, the rarer the event, the more severe its amplitude and the potential impact.
In this session, you will learn how to apply Expected Loss and Value at Risk modelling to physical climate risks.
