Future Ready AI Session 5: Jobs, Skills, and Opportunities in New Mexico

​The New Mexico Technology Council's summer workshop series, Future Ready: AI Pathways, will bring accessible, hands-on AI education to Valencia County, helping residents, particularly high school students and young adults, build the skills needed for emerging careers.

​Session 5 will explore how AI is transforming careers across New Mexico and discover the skills that can help you succeed in an AI-driven future. In this interactive session, participants will learn how AI is being used across industries, from engineering and scientific research to healthcare and conservation, and gain practical insights into the knowledge, skills, and career pathways that are shaping tomorrow's workforce. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of the many opportunities AI is creating and how they can begin preparing for careers in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.

​The session will be led by Megan Greenwald-Yarnell, Principal R&D Staff Member at Sandia National Laboratories, and Nathan Brown, Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories. Drawing on their expertise in artificial intelligence, engineering, and research, Megan and Nathan will share real-world examples of how AI is transforming industries across New Mexico while highlighting the technical and human-centered skills needed to thrive in the future of work.
