✈️ TLDR

From Oct 18 – Nov 15, 2025, Plumia, Nomad Citizen, and Seapunk Studios are hosting the Citizenship Protocols Residency inside Edge City Patagonia: a month-long popup village at the edge of the Andes.

We’ll gather builders, researchers, writers, and artists to explore the future of citizenship, borders, migration, and belonging. Expect fiction workshops, protocol design, a white paper sprint, and a mini-summit on how citizenship might evolve in a digital, borderless world.

👉 To join:

  1. Buy your Edge City ticket (use code PLUMIA20 for 20% off).

  2. Apply to the residency (this Luma).

Overview

Edge City Patagonia is a popup village: one month of co-living, co-working, and co-creating in San Martín de los Andes, Argentina. About 500 people—founders, scientists, policymakers, artists, and families—will come together to build at the frontier of tech, science, and society.

Within the village, groups run residencies (focused tracks of 5–50 people). The Citizenship Protocols Residency, organized by Plumia, Nomad Citizen, and Seapunk Studios, is one of them.

Why join this residency?

Over four weeks, we’ll dive into urgent questions of global belonging:

  • 🌍 Migration & borders: What does it mean to be mobile in a digital-first world?

  • 🛂 Passport privilege: How do we design fairer, more open systems of mobility?

  • 📜 Protocols of belonging: Can we imagine frameworks beyond the nation-state?

The program will unfold in three phases:

  1. Kick-Off (Oct 18–28): Talks, workshops, and hikes led by Plumia + Nomad Citizen.

  2. Design Fiction Week (Oct 29–Nov 5): Seapunk Studios and friends guide participants in co-creating speculative stories and prototypes for borderless futures. Published via Protocolised, Borderless, and other outlets.

  3. White Paper Sprint + Mini-Summit (Nov 6–15): Co-author a white paper on citizenship protocols and host a public summit with global voices.

Alongside this, you’ll live inside Edge City’s daily rhythm: morning workouts, coworking at BIT Cotesma, fireside salons, community dinners, and weekend adventures.

The bigger picture

Edge City Patagonia isn’t just this residency; it’s a whole village built on 10+ other residencies running throughout the month, spanning AI, bio, governance, art, regeneration, and more. As a participant, you’ll not only go deep on citizenship, but also be surrounded by several hundred curious, kind, and high-agency peers from across industries. That mix of focus and cross-pollination is what makes Edge City special.
