Book Launch UNCOOL by Debora Brune
Debora Brune presents her debut photobook UNCOOL, followed by a book signing. UNCOOL is the result of Debora Brune's four-year project, begun in 2022.
In 2026 she was shortlisted for the C/O Berlin Talent Award and a finalist for the Dior Photography and Visual Arts Award at Rencontres d'Arles (group exhibition at LUMA Arles).
The book is a collection of uncompromising portraits of 27 people, including Brune herself, whose bodies fall outside conventional beauty standards: wheelchair users, amputees, cancer survivors, people with Down syndrome, hearing loss or vision impairment, and others society still labels as disabilities. Brune shows her subjects without the usual caution or sentimentality and treats what is often read as "wrong" as a visual starting point. With an essay by Alexandra Bondi de Antoni, designed by BüroBüro.
144 pages, thread-sewn hardcover, EUR 55.
