Every City Needs a Seedbank: Co-Design Session
As part of City Splash 2026, we’re gathering a small group at the Wolves Lane Centre in Haringey to talk about seed sovereignty and collectively imagine a new community-led seed catalogue and seed bank.
Tour plants including sorghum, okra, and callaloo, exploring how these crops have travelled through African and Caribbean diasporic food traditions and continue to shape the flavours, rituals, and memories of our communities
Sow seeds while listening to a shared selection of tracks, exploring rhythms that speak to food, migration, and community life
Contribute to the vision for a new community-led seed catalogue and seed bank at the Wolves Lane Centre, rooted in collective stewardship, and shared cultural heritage
We’ll share the foundations of the vision, and our plans to build partnerships with other seed banks for learning, exchange, and long-term seed sovereignty.
The next ‘Every City Needs a Seedbank’ session will take place at People, Place[making] and Culture: A Learning Festival on June 17th and 18th 2026 - book here: https://luma.com/5jirlf7o
