Mt. Adams PBA burn - Rogowski Prep Party
Join us for a unit prep party where we’ll help get this property ready for burning! Work will include limbing trees, trimming shrubs, and creating and/or improving control lines around the unit. Many hands will make light work!
We'll plan to grill hot dogs/veggie and provide a late lunch for everyone who comes.
Note: We originally scheduled Oct. 4th to be our burn day, but realized that this unit needs a bit more work before it sees fire. We'll plan to burn later in October.
Who:
Anyone is welcome! You do not need to have any official training to come out to our prep party. We would especially appreciate people who could bring chainsaws and would be willing to use them to help limb trees and cut back brush.
To wear:
-Long sleeves/pants
-Work gloves
-Sturdy shoes or work boots
-Sunglasses, glasses, or other eye protection
-Hard hat if you have one (we will bring some for people to borrow)
Safety:
This property has quite a bit of poison oak. If you are very sensitive to poison oak, we recommend you skip this event. All others should fully cover your legs, arms, and hands to avoid contact.
