Block Printing Party!
Join us for an evening of block printing to create activism patches that help raise funds for mutual aid! This will be a chill hangout where we’ll print designs on thrifted and unused fabric. We’ll also have supplies if you want to try making your own block-print design (we just ask that you help cover the cost of materials, which wouldn't be much). Come anytime and stay as long as you’d like!
What to bring:
Secondhand materials - old t-shirts, sweatshirts, sheets, jeans, etc. - to be used for printing (or grab something from a cheap secondhand store!). We’ll cut up the patches another time. If you have any block-print designs of your own that you’d like to share & print with the community, please do 🖐️🎨
What to wear:
Wear clothing you wouldn’t mind getting dirty - the ink can be messy!
What we’ll be doing:
We’ll be using blocks to print on secondhand fabric. You’ll help roll ink onto the block-print designs, press them onto fabric, and hang everything up to dry. The prints will take a few days to cure.
Next Sunday, we’ll bring everything to Sew It Together to be cut into patches and sewn onto clothing, where people can “buy” the patches and funds will go to mutual aid groups 💛
You can also reserve some patches to be used for your own designs too!
