Know Your Worth: The Politics of Being a Tulsa Creative (Art, Film, and Music)
As Tulsa continues to grow as a creative hub, many artists eventually discover they're creating more than art.
They're creating spaces.
Communities.
Stages.
Opportunities.
Traditions.
Conditions for other people to thrive.
The work begins to extend beyond the canvas, the page, the performance, or the film. It becomes the work of stewardship.
This Table is an invitation for artists who have become community builders.
Together, we'll explore what it means to sustain not only our own creative practice, but the people, places, and ecosystems that creative work depends upon. We'll wrestle with the realities of leadership, generosity, burnout, funding, collaboration, cultural responsibility, and the often invisible labor of building something that outlives ourselves.
The Table is a curated dialogue series centered on respectful conversation. While we gather around a shared meal, the heart of the experience is the exchange of perspectives. You can expect a guided but open discussion where lived experience is honored, nuance is welcomed, and listening matters as much as speaking.
It's a room for people carrying the weight of culture to think together about what comes next.
Together we'll reflect on questions like:
When does an artist become a steward?
What responsibilities come with creating spaces for others?
How do we build communities that can outlast any one individual?
What does healthy leadership look like inside a creative ecosystem?
How do we care for ourselves while caring for the communities we've helped create?
What legacy are we building beyond the work itself?
Anchoring Question
What does it mean to become the kind of artist who creates the conditions for others to flourish?
Who It's For
This Table is designed for artists, filmmakers, musicians, writers, curators, producers, educators, organizers, cultural workers, founders, and creative leaders who have found themselves building more than their own practice.
Whether you've started a gathering, launched a festival, opened your home, mentored emerging artists, produced experiences, created opportunities, or simply carry a deep sense of responsibility for Tulsa's creative future, this conversation is for you.
You don't need to have everything figured out.
You do need a willingness to reflect honestly, contribute generously, and imagine what becomes possible when artists see themselves not only as creators, but as builders of culture.
Dress Code: Creative. Polished. Intentional.
Come dressed in a way that reflects your creative identity. Expressive, elevated, and authentically you.
About The Table
The Table is a curated dialogue series from NDA Haus designed to cultivate meaningful conversation around the ideas shaping our lives, communities, and creative practice.
While we gather around a shared meal, the meal is simply the setting. The dialogue is the purpose.
Each gathering is intentionally curated to encourage thoughtful reflection, generous listening, and genuine connection across different experiences and perspectives. This is not about debate, performance, or consensus. It's about making space for conversations that are increasingly rare—ones where curiosity matters more than certainty.
Attendance is application-based, allowing each Table to be thoughtfully composed to foster rich and balanced conversation.
The goal of The Table is not agreement.
It's deeper understanding.
Because the strongest creative communities aren't built by individuals working alone.
They're built by people willing to build one another.
