Diversifying Income Streams: Using Agritourism to Grow Your Urban Farm
About the Event!
Join UCANR Climate Action and Land Equity (CALE) and Cultivating Farmers for an interactive workshop on Agritourism for Urban Farms.
Urban farms have a unique opportunity to connect directly with their communities through educational field trips, farm tours, and hands-on learning experiences. This session will explore what it takes to build and manage a successful agritourism program in an urban setting—from designing engaging activities to understanding the key policies, safety regulations, and liability considerations that ensure your farm is ready to welcome visitors.
Participants will:
Learn the basics and best practices for developing and managing agritourism programs
Strategies for engaging with local tourism organizations
Explore creative ways to design educational and engaging farm activities
Grow your understanding of insurance, liability considerations, and permitting requirements
Hear from CALE and local farmers experienced in hosting on-farm events
Whether you’re just starting to open your farm or garden to the public or looking to expand your community engagement, this workshop will equip you with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to do it safely and successfully.
