Building for the Physical World
Paraform is hosting a small dinner for founders building in robotics and defense, with Peter Deng, General Partner at Felicis, as our special guest.
Few people have shaped more of the products the world uses every day. Peter helped build Facebook’s News Feed and the standalone Messenger app, then became Instagram’s first head of product. He went on to lead product management at Oculus, led Uber’s rider product through its IPO, and ran ChatGPT as OpenAI’s VP of Consumer Product. Today at Felicis, he backs companies building in the physical world, including Singularity Defense, which makes low-cost air defense interceptors.
We’ll talk about the hiring challenges unique to physical companies: finding engineers who work across hardware and software, competing with primes and big labs for talent, and deciding which early hires matter most.
Reception at 7pm, dinner at 7:30 in Pacific Heights. Hosted by Paraform.
