β€‹πŸŽ€ About this masterclass

Join us for Masterclass 5/5 with Dilip Maurya on Valuation & Dilution.

Dilip is a Valuation Manager at Rocket Internet SE, where he works on valuation models, venture investment analysis, and strategic decision support for portfolio companies. His background spans venture capital, private equity, advanced business valuation, financial modeling, and startup finance.

This session is part of the founder preparation series leading up to Aspiring South Asian Founders Pitch to Angels - Hustle Games on 18 June.

In this session, Dilip will help early-stage founders understand how valuation and dilution actually work when raising capital. The goal is to make founders more confident when reading cap tables, comparing funding instruments, and thinking through how much ownership they are giving up across funding rounds.

β€‹πŸš€ What we’ll cover

  1. Understanding pre-money and post-money valuation

  2. How fundraising affects founder ownership

  3. Calculating dilution across funding rounds

  4. Reading and managing cap tables

  5. SAFE notes, convertible notes, and priced rounds

  6. ESOP impact on founder equity

  7. Ownership scenarios and dilution modeling

  8. Common fundraising mistakes founders make

  9. Strategies to minimize unnecessary dilution

  10. Balancing capital needs with long-term control and value creation

β€‹πŸŽ― How this connects to Hustle Games

On 18 June, 10 selected startups will get the chance to pitch in front of angels, early-stage VCs, and the South Asian founder community.

To be considered for the final pitch stage, founders are expected to attend at least 4 out of 5 masterclasses. The goal is to identify committed founders and help everyone prepare better before the main event.

πŸ‘₯ Who should attend?

Early-stage South Asian founders/co-founders, especially those in the ideation, validation, or pre-pre-seed stage, who are working seriously or full-time on their startup idea.

β€‹πŸ“ Format

Online session. Link will be shared with approved participants.
