About Event

Welcome to Fides Entrepreneurship!

On Thursday, October 1st at 6:30 PM, at our candle-lit seated dinner, we are honored to host Fashion Founders such as the Founder of Shepherd's, Chris Cottrell and others fashion founders from Europe and the U.S to connect where faith and fashion meet.

The brand, Shepherd's was founded by Chris Cottrell, Austin Wright, Nathan Price and Kansas City Chiefs placekicker, Harrison Butker. Known for his strong Catholic convictions, Harrison Butker gained worldwide attention through his 2024 commencement speech at Benedictine College.

Before the adoption of Christianity both Northern and Southern Europe had no Christian values. Slavery, infantcide (essentially abortion of that time) and the killing of people through public entertainment were visible signs of the culture.

After Constantine in the 4th century became Christian it reshaped how Europe understood what sacred responsibilities really meant.

One visible expression of this shift appeared in clothing.

The Roman garments themselves largely remained, but the Church gave them symbolic meaning through color and vocation:

  • Priests wore black - symbolizing humility and penance

  • Worn by cardinals - Red. Sacrifice and martyrdom, as a sign of willingness to die for the faith.

  • White - Purity and Witness to Christ

  • Purple - Pastoral responsibility

These symbols have remained largely unchanged for centuries.

Clothing communicated that leadership carried responsibility and sacrifice, not merely status.

This idea extended far beyond vestments.

Christian civilization also invested deeply in beauty in churches, architecture, art, and music because beauty was seen as a way to remind people that human life is ordered toward something greater than themselves.

For centuries, clothing and architecture alike communicated vocation, dignity, and responsibility.

Today, however, the role of clothing in society appears to be changing.

As Western culture becomes more secular, fashion increasingly emphasizes individual expression, casualness, and often sexualization, rather than formality or symbolic meaning.

For the first time in centuries, clothing in many contexts no longer signals vocation or responsibility but personal identity.

This raises an important question:

If Christian civilization used beauty in clothing and architecture to remind people that life has vocation and responsibility, what does our shift toward self-expression and casualness say about how we now understand the human person and success?

That is why we’re bringing together Fashion founders inspired by their faith to start their own fashion brands such as:
