Voice AI in HealthTech: The Future of Ambient Intelligence
Ambient voice technology is moving out of pilot projects and into everyday clinical use across the NHS. Great Ormond Street is rolling ambient voice out across its outpatient clinics. Other trusts are already reporting measurable gains, including a 14% productivity increase in one pre-operative clinic and fewer last-minute cancellations. NHS England and the Royal College of Physicians are now actively shaping how this scales.
For clinicians the promise is simple. Less time writing notes, more time with patients.
But getting from a working pilot to a trust-wide rollout raises harder questions. How do you prove accuracy and clinical safety? How do you handle privacy and information governance? How does it fit the systems clinicians already use every day?
That is what this evening is about.
We are bringing together two groups who usually only meet once a contract is already on the table: the HealthTech companies building voice-enabled products, and the NHS, clinical and digital leaders responsible for evaluating and scaling them.
The format
A 15-minute talk from Jake Meadows, Head of Product at Tortus, whose ambient voice technology is being deployed across NHS settings including Great Ormond Street
A 15-minute view from the NHS with Kate Shields, former NHS Chief Executive and digital health advisor
A 45-minute panel on what it takes to scale ambient voice safely, moderated by Oliver Bailey of Deepgram
What we will get into
Moving from pilots to scaled deployment
Accuracy, trust and clinical safety
Privacy, security and information governance
Integration with existing clinical systems and workflows
Where the next opportunities for voice in healthcare are emerging
Doors open at 6:00pm with drinks on arrival. Talks and the panel run until 8:30pm, followed by food, drinks and time to carry on the conversation.
Hosted by Deepgram. Deepgram provides the speech-to-text and voice AI infrastructure behind many of the NHS approved products in this space.
