Join us for the opening night of Detox Gallery’s month-long exhibition “I Grieve Different,” inspired by Kendrick Lamar’s United in Grief. This show explores how memory, loss, and healing move through art -- transforming pain into presence, and grief into connection.
What to Expect
🌿 Vendor pop-ups featuring prints, zines, and small works from local artists and makers.
We will also have a menu of tarot reading offerings from Alexa Alicanti, a.k.a Lextrology (@lextrology)🎤 Open mic performances — poetry, music, and storytelling that hold space for reflection and release
🍷 Light refreshments & conversation — enjoy one complimentary drink ticket with your RSVP and be the first to experience the show with this VIP opening night. This opening reception will also have free beverages provided by our hemp drink sponsors - TBD and Ayrloom.
RSVP is required. (Please note that this is a 21+, private event. IDs will be checked at the door and must match the ticket name).
Come as you are. We will have local vendors and artists at the opening reception - please feel free to indicate in your RSVP if you would like to perform, vend or display your artwork during this opening reception.

Detox Gallery is independently founded and fully funded by curator Vickie J. Lin, who also serves as the primary curator for this exhibition.
This show is presented in loving memory of Vickie’s best friend, Surafel, who passed away in July 2025. An altar space will be created within the exhibition as a place for reflection and remembrance.
