Generative Models To Reinforcement Learning: Bridging Theory and Practical | APU AIC
About Our Event
🤖 “Generative Models to Reinforcement Learning: Bridging Theory and Practice”
Hosted by the Artificial Intelligence Club (AIC) at Asia Pacific University (APU), this workshop introduces participants to Reinforcement Learning (RL) for Large Language Models (LLMs) through an interactive manager-and-worker concept.
Ever wondered how AI learns to produce better answers? Discover how instructions, human preferences, and rewards shape AI behaviour through engaging explanations, interactive demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll explore the evolution of Generative AI, understand how AI learns from feedback, and experience how different training approaches influence model responses. You’ll also get an introduction to evaluating and deploying trained AI models.
📚 What You’ll Learn
Session 1: Understanding Generative AI
Explore the evolution of Generative AI and Large Language Models, and learn how AI models are trained and why they need alignment with human preferences.
Session 2: Exploring Reinforcement Learning
Discover how feedback, preferences, and rewards influence AI behaviour through interactive demonstrations and practical scenarios.
Session 3: Hands-On Training & Evaluation
Gain practical experience with AI model training, compare model responses, and observe how different training approaches shape AI behaviour. You’ll also explore the basics of deploying trained models.
No prior Reinforcement Learning experience is required. Join us to bridge the gap between theory and practice and discover how we can guide AI to produce better responses!
