We're excited to spotlight Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, led by Executive Director Meagan Michal, an organization dedicated to creating pathways to affordable homeownership while strengthening neighborhoods across our community. Through home construction, critical home repairs, financial education, neighborhood revitalization, and volunteer engagement, Habitat is helping families build long-term stability and generational wealth, not just houses.
Today's Habitat goes far beyond building homes. The organization partners with families throughout their homeownership journey, offering financial literacy and one-on-one mentoring, preserving existing affordable housing through its Critical Home Repair program, operating ReStore locations that fund its mission, and working alongside residents, businesses, and local governments to revitalize entire neighborhoods. Their approach recognizes that thriving communities require safe housing, financial empowerment, and strong local partnerships working together.
