Vibe to the Future: Avoid Rookie Errors
One hour on Friday with FIELD STATION to fix the problems that trip up vibe coders: security, prompting, costs and model choice.
You’ve built something with AI. It mostly works. Now you’re not sure whether it’s secure, why the bills keep going up, or whether there’s a better way to ask for what you want.
VIBE TO THE FUTURE is a one-hour session for people who build with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, Replit and Bolt, and want to stop making the mistakes almost everyone makes at the start.
What we’ll cover
Security basics: API keys left in your code, databases anyone can open, and the checks to run before you share a link
Better prompting: how to describe what you want, so you spend less time undoing what you didn’t want
Getting more from your tools: planning first, managing context, project instructions, and knowing when to start a fresh session
Keeping costs down: which jobs need the expensive model and which don’t
More ethical choices: open and smaller models, providers that respect your privacy, and what you trade off (often less than you’d think)
Bring your questions, and your half-finished project too if you have one. We’ll leave time to work through problems people are actually stuck on.
Who it’s for
People with no coding background who’ve started building things with AI
Small organisations and freelancers putting AI-built tools in front of real users
Experienced developers who are new to AI tools and want a quick reality check
Who’s running it
Doug "Doc" Belshaw and Tom "McFly" Watson from FIELD STATION.
