​This session will explore what autism really is, what it is not, and the lived experiences of autistic individuals. Participants will also learn how families, schools, and communities can create more supportive and inclusive environments.

​This event will feature an engaging discussion with a guest speaker, moderated by psychologist Venus Igwan, followed by an open Q&A session with participants.

​About Convener/Host: Venus Igweani

​Venus Igweani is a psychologist Intrested in neurodevelopment in psychology and a strong advocate for neurodiversity. Her work helps people better understand human behavior while promoting awareness and support for individuals across the neurodiverse spectrum.

​She has worked with children on the autism spectrum and engages with issues around substance use. Venus believes that every person deserves the opportunity to live, grow, and thrive into who they are meant to be.

​Her commitment to increasing awareness and understanding of autism is what inspired the Beyond the Label: Understanding Autism conversation.
