From Profiles to Playgrounds: How We Built Cowrywise Kids

​UnderTheHood is back for its second edition this year, and this time we’re taking a look at how we built Cowrywise Kids; our new learning and investment platform designed to help kids build healthy money habits early through games, bite-sized lessons, and interactive experiences.

​In this session, Idorenyin from our Frontend Engineering team and Itunu from our Backend Engineering team will walk us through the thinking, architecture, and engineering decisions behind the platform.

​Building for kids is very different from building for adults. The team had to think deeply about simplicity, engagement, performance, parental experiences, and how to create a product that makes financial education feel natural and exciting for younger users.

​They’ll break down how the product was designed and engineered from end to end, the trade-offs the team made along the way, the parts that became more complex than expected, and the lessons learned while shipping a platform that blends education, gaming, and fintech into one experience.

​As always, the session will be interactive. We’ll open the room for questions, architecture discussions, and honest conversations about what worked, what didn’t, and what we’d improve going forward.
