Deep Tech Innovation & Entrepreneurship: MBA Information Session
Deep Tech Innovation & Entrepreneurship (MBA 295T, Section 005, 3 units) is a Spring 2027 course cross listed with Berkeley Engineering and Berkeley Law. MBA students work in interdisciplinary teams with engineers and law students to build the commercialization strategy for a deep tech startup, working directly with its founder.
The course covers business model design, technology marketing, value chain and competitive analysis, IP strategy, and value capture. Students engage with founders, deep tech investors, and legal experts throughout the semester. Teams present to expert panels mid semester and deliver final recommendations at Demo Day in May.
Class meets Mondays, 6:00 to 9:30 PM, January 25 to May 3, in person.
In this session, Professor Matt Rappaport will walk through the course structure, the startup projects, and what is expected of students.
