Frontier Table: San Francisco
An Evening for Founders Building on the Frontier
A Frontier Table Dinner, hosted by Obvious
AI is changing how we build products at a dizzying rate. But it's also transforming how we build teams, companies, and even startup ecosystems. And the implications are moving faster than the conversation around them.
This raises questions that matter more than whether to use Claude Code or Codex.
What if the way we've built companies for the last 15 years is entirely incompatible with what's needed for the next 15?
What constitutes a moat anymore?
What does defensibility look like when anyone can build anything?
When you're building at the epicenter of AI acceleration — where capital, talent, and ambition are concentrated at unprecedented scale — how do you build something durable instead of just fast?
How do we separate what's meaningful from what's hype when everything is changing this fast?
These are also the hardest questions to answer, because the answers are emerging and changing in near real time. And there is rarely space to engage them with peers living through the same transformation and operating on the frontier.
So this dinner is an attempt to create that space and facilitate these discussions.
The format is simple. A small table, great food, and a few hours to think out loud together. We'll open by sharing the model of the near future driving how we operate at Obvious, the one we're working backwards from. Then we'll turn it over to the room. What we'd ask of everyone is the same thing we'll offer: the fundamental observation driving you right now, and the question keeping you up at night.
No agenda beyond that. Just the people best equipped to see what's coming, comparing notes before it arrives.
// ABOUT OBVIOUS
Obvious is an applied AI research lab. We spend our days closing the gap between what's possible and what's doable, treating our own company as the experiment for what it means to operate at agent scale. We've reinvented our product, reshaped our team, accelerated revenue, and 10x our shipping velocity in less than a year.
