About Event

We're Out in Climate (DC) - your local chapter for people across the LGBTQIA+ Community in the climate, environmental, and outdoor space.

Join us at JR's on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM to connect with new and familiar people, learn more about Out in Climate, and the local DC climate community.

The City Leads for DC are Chris Schraeder (he/him) and Chess Jakobs (they/them).

Out in Climate: Out in Climate is a non-profit dedicated to building a community among LGBTQ+ professionals in the climate space. Our mission is to foster networking and mentoring and to uplift queer voices working on climate solutions. Since our founding in 2022, we've hosted 20+ events connecting professionals across a broad swath of organizations, including climate tech startups and investors, government, and NGOs.
