AMA @sugaroverflow - 21 June 2026
This AMA series is initiated by the fellowship candidates of the 2025/2026 of the Introduction to Political Technology course at Newspeak House. It is open to faculty, fellows and fellowship candidates only. (Newspeak community members by e-mail request).
As part of Tuna’s Ask Me Anything series, Fatima will kick things off with a short presentation (~20 minutes), followed by an open Q&A.
We’ll likely touch on:
Growing up, family, formative experiences, childhood ambitions, and the life and world moments that shaped my values (including a few chaotic plot twists).
Career twists through civic tech, government, open source, developer advocacy, and now AI - from building public infrastructure in Boston and Canada to working in silicon valley.
Communities & side quests - the communities I’ve helped build and been a part of - like Bad Idea Factory, interesting initiatives I’ve led, and my favorite conference talks and pivotal moments.
What I care about now - AI agents, political technology, governance, better systems, and what brought me to Newspeak House (plus how that’s evolving).
Life outside work - Family, nieces/nephews, tennis, games, strength training, escape rooms, dessert cafés, travel, and unexpected lore.
Happy to be asked about:
public speaking
storytelling
DevRel
career pivots
community building
AI agents
civic tech
working in/around government
and working in the open.
You're also welcome to ask anything else you're curious about!
If you (fellow or faculty) also want to hold a Newspeak AMA, feel free to sign up here: https://forms.gle/d8jyFJbAp96g1N2g8
